Cleaning Tips for Spring Allergies
We live in Winnipeg, we look forward to warm weather after months and months of cold darkness only for the melted snow to reveal bits of sand that blow in your face as you’re walking down the street. The next thing you know, the grass is greener, flowers are in bloom, and bees are buzzing, but the pollen is making you sneeze!
Treating your allergies is a lot easier when you take a few extra steps to keep your home clean, and free of dust. Here are some tips!
Vacuum regularly
This may seem like a “no-brainer”, but sometimes pulling out the vacuum from the closet may not be the first thing on your mind. Vacuuming is more efficient than using a broom, and doing it up to twice per week can keep the allergens at bay.
Wash your bedding
Sure, they may look clean when you look at them but they absorb all the dust, hair, dead skin, and pollen (gross, we know). You might not think that they’d be the culprit, but it could be part of the reason why you’re waking up with itchy eyes and throat.
Avoid scented cleaners
Using scented cleaners can be very irritating. When you’re doing your spring cleaning, opt for something without fragrance. If you’re missing out on the fresh and clean smell, try a stovetop scent! Load up on fresh citrus fruits, and mint leaves after you’re done your Spring cleaning!
We understand that cleaning can be a chore, and sometimes you just don’t want to do it.
